Annual Statement of Governor Impact
Recently we have been successful in achieving condition improvement fund grants to complete the following works:
- Alterations and refurbishment of School car park and pedestrian entrances
- Replacement and upgrading of the heating throughout Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 area of the school plus the school hall
- We have also worked to deliver a new integral classroom to the school.
We’ve employed a number of additional staff to support children with significant additional needs. In addition, small group or one-to-one tuition was put in place to accelerate the progress of targeted children and those entitled to pupil premium funding.
Using the PE and sports funding, we were able to offer a number of alternative after school clubs, for example, golf, tennis, yoga and archery. Specific year groups accessed outdoor pursuits activities and teaching staff attended relevant professional development opportunities to enhance the teaching of PE.
The school achieved the following awards:
- Beyond Bullying (Silver)
- Food for Life Partnership (Silver)
- Science Mark (Silver)
- ActiveMark (Gold)
On the 1st June 2017, Gilmorton Chandler C of E Primary School formed and subsequently became part of the Inspiring Primaries Academy Trust. This change came about due to the ongoing work of our Local Governing Body in consultation and collaboration with eight other local primary schools, the Leicester Diocesan Board of Education and the Regional Schools Commissioner.
